Internet promotions continue to be a significant channel of distribution for Gevalia.
Bel-Aire's hands-on approach to monitoring all aspects of the business which includes merchandise selection, creative development, promotional offers, list selection and analysis, contributed to the internet sales almost doubling in 2004. With monthly contact, Gevalia brand awareness has grown and customers can look forward to a variety of promotions and merchandise from Gevalia. While taking advantage of seasonal events and offer tests, Bel-Aire has been able to promote new categories, an e-catalog, affiliates and new partners. The combination of these successful strategies has increased the dollar demand by 90% from the previous year.

Bel-Aire determined a consistent upscale design, both manageable and maintained year-round which was required to meet and exceed customer expectations of Gevalia gift products. The successful integration of operational functionality, recognizable quality and its rich color palette once again brought the Gevalia gift-wrap program to its rich prominent, supporting role of the total brand experience.

Combining its e-commerce and direct mail marketing expertise, Bel-Aire developed a new and compelling way to shop the Gevalia catalog on-line that married the familiarity of the catalog medium to the dynamics of the electronic medium. We created an electronic catalog
(e-catalog) using new technology that replicates the ease and convenience of the printed medium while providing for consumer access through a quick download. Once installed with its distinctive Gevalia logo on the desktop, users could browse through the Gevalia e-catalog and view detailed information about each product. Using an imbedded online ordering mechanism, a user could shop offline, then upload the entire order with one click to the Gevalia website where they could complete their purchase. The continued use and expansion of the e-catalog format affirms the success Gevalia is experiencing in its efforts to meet the needs of existing catalog customers who want to shop online.

MARKETING CHALLENGE:
Rising costs threatened to the required level of communications sent to members of the Gevalia Kaffe continuity program. Faced with the prospect of reduced sales if cutbacks were necessary, Gevalia needed a solution that maintained its successful contact strategy without sacrificing the quality or performance of its communications.

BEL-AIRE SOLUTION:
Starting with an in-depth analysis of the purchase history of the Gevalia house file, Bel-Aire overlaid the frequency of member contacts with seasonal buying implications.
The result was an improved circulation strategy that would support a newly created mini-catalog in a unique size and format. In this test, Gevalia was able to reduce expenses and increase the responsiveness of both new and existing customer segments, while continuing to uphold the brand standard and image.

Bel-Aire Associates marketing team works closely with the Zabar's Staff to develop targeted circulation plans that meet Zabar's overall marketing strategies.
The services Bel-Aire provides as circulation manager include: catalog sales projections, rental and house list selection criteria, merge/purge instructions to the service bureau, printer verification, monitor mail delivery and finally, backend response analysis of the catalog campaign.

MARKETING CHALLENGE:
Strategize, create and produce the Zabar's catalog aimed at increasing direct mail, and in-store traffic.

BEL-AIRE SOLUTION:
Photography and copy style captures the essence of the Zabar's store. We have balanced the variety and nuances of the merchandise and the unique aspect of shopping at this one-of-kind place. Over the last 5 years, Bel-Aire has guided the production of these catalogs that have become a successful part of their business.
The objective was to create consumer awareness of Zabar's merchandise while increasing online sales. Bel-Aire creatively crafted and carefully managed the deployment of promotional emails that built upon the existing Zabar's brand. In turn, this increased their email database.
